Why are women's retreats a catalyst for change?

Your vision will become clear only when you look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.’ - Carl G Jung

Women’s retreats are undoubtedly on the rise, growing in popularity for both businesses and individuals. With the increasing demands of juggling child and elderly care, domestic chores, and work, the retreat uniquely offers the time and space to consider who you are, where you are and how you want to be.

The decision to go on a retreat often comes from a recognition from either yourself, your team or your organisation, that something needs to change. Often, we are unsure of exactly what this change may be and this could be due to simply not having the time in a busy and increasingly frenetic life to take the time out to think, feel and reflect.

The concept of creating time to think, feel and reflect is not a new concept. Today, it may be recognised as mindfulness.

There is increasing research in support of taking a mindful approach, with evidence of the benefits of adopting mindfulness and its impact on our mental health.

‘If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are a few.’ – Shunryu Suszki Roshi

Women face a unique set of challenges. Viewed as the carers and the nurturers, we tend to put the needs of others before our own and often, we carry with us a lack of confidence and a guilt complex.

Women tend to possess a requirement to be affiliated to values and life purposes and this is growing particularly evident in those occupying Organisational Leadership roles. The result is that frequently, women reach some level of crisis in their lives. This can simply be a realisation that life isn’t going as they wish. To resolve this feeling, women must find the time to invest in themselves.

What is 7Seeds Retreat?

7Seeds was created through a passion to ‘engage, inspire and support the development of confident women to realise their potential to make a positive difference in the world’.

The programme includes 7Seeds Retreats, ranging from 5 to 7 day retreats that adopt a holistic approach to the woman’s whole life. The retreats focus on health and wellbeing, relationships, life balance and life purpose.

Our holistic approach uniquely provides you with the knowledge for how to self-change any and all aspects of your life. Retreats often focus on one discrete area, without understanding the concepts, theories and approaches behind the recommendations. As complex human beings, this can make it difficult, if not impossible, to affect permanent change.

We do not suggest that a 5-day retreat will permanently change your life, however with the knowledge, tools and techniques that will be provided to you, along with our coaching and follow-up support, you have the key to create lasting changes.
